Fragments of Memory is a non-linear photographic project. I collect objects from my daily life and recombine things that have been used with things still in use, using images and found objects to express feelings that no single object can hold.
I collage photographs and personal belongings. Emotions such as joy, anger, sorrow and delight are turned into deliberate processes — combining, smearing, burning and soaking. The altered photographs are then photographed again, to restore the emotions missing from the original moment.
Through these experiments, the work returns to a basic question: how does a photographic image become an artwork? Working in this emotion-led way, I also look at the visual mechanisms and emotional resonance shared by maker and viewer.
