I came out of the long cave of the pandemic to see what it had blown in and carried away. Against my pessimistic expectations, nothing much had changed — except, perhaps, the emotions hidden behind blue and white face masks. Spring and summer brought back human activity and the growth of plants: the same old cycle of life, in which the sun will rise.
Like the pandemic that arrived so suddenly, the chaos that came with it is vanishing in the same way. In the most ordinary scenes of daily life, I try to capture that vanishing act.
We can only bring memories back to life through language and images. Through these pictures I want to send a message from now to the distant future: no matter how chaotic the world may seem, time passes, and life goes back on track, alongside order.
